Oregon is in trouble. Portland is the financial engine to the state and when the engine fails, any mechanic will tell you that you are in deep trouble. Now, some of the city council do not want to talk about how deep the hole is and instead will want to look at fees they can add on for the sake of plugging up the holes in the dam.
Let me be honest, the next few years are not going to be fun and even if the federal situation was the best, it could have been we would still be in the same amount of trouble. Now, we have been third in unemployment behind California and Nevada and only by tenths of percentage points.
We have a problem, and if we have a problem, the state does too. Instead of fees that are currently being shopped around I would like to see a full financial audit made public as can be. For a creature so large as the city of Portland we need a deep breakdown to make sure the money we are getting is giving back to the people. That would be something on my to do list as a city councilor, it surprises me why it is not on more people’s lists.
Our oldest need business to help support their city and their own lives it is important to hear them as well. The same with our youngest and everyone in the city who takes the time to learn about the issues to a degree and see something wrong. That is their business to be minded after all, as citizens of the city. It could be though the stresses get to some people sometimes, and that happens to us all at one point or another. It was a passionate point for him and it came across badly. That will be the last on talking about the comment made by Council President Dunphy.
No, I do not have tattoos, thought about it, but never did.
Back to the business, we need to know where the money goes and we need to make sure everything is spent appropriately as over the past year there has been multiple times where money disappeared or was found we need to now more then ever keep a sharp eye on it and it has shown that has not been the case. Before any fees or taxes get thought up, we need to know where the money goes, and that is going to be a great way to figure out where our repairs can start.
