Over the course of the year from the first of the year to the campaign I have committed to 100 hours of volunteer work in the year.
In a world that moves fast, 100 hours may not sound like much. But these are hours given after my campaign work, after my college classes, after my job as an advocate, and while navigating my disability. These are not hours for appearances. They are hours of substance.
As of today, I have logged 46 hours for the year.
The hours that count toward this pledge are intentional. They include advisory board service, trainings, and official meetings or events tied to boards and councils I am formally appointed to. They do not include campaign-related appearances. They do not include meetings I simply observe without being a member. If I am not officially serving, it does not count.
This commitment is about accountability.
Here are the organizations where I have actively served for these hours
- Multnomah County Disability Services Advisory Council (DSAC)
- Oregon Disability Services Advisory Council (DSAC)
- Oregon Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) Advocacy Award Selection Committee
- TriMet Committee for Accessible Transportation (CAT) and TriMet LIFT Subcommittee
- Multnomah County Department of County Assets / Department of County Management Community Budget Advisory Council (DCA/DCM CBAC)
- Multnomah County Animal Services Community Design Advisory Committee (CDAC)
- Portland State University Tuition Review Advisory Council (TRAC)
- District 4 Neighborhood Coalition
- Goose Hollow Foothills League
- Portland Art Museum
The decision to run for office was not impulsive. It was something I had been considering throughout 2025. My values do not allow me to show up only during campaign season. I believe in learning what people care about by already being at the table before asking for a vote.
One hundred hours is not a grand gesture. It is a baseline. It is proof that even under pressure, even with competing responsibilities, I can deliver consistent effort and measurable results, because, if I can do this as a volunteer, imagine what can be accomplished when public service is my full-time responsibility.
